Hand in Hand Providing a Unique Service in Malta

Hand in Hand provides Applied Behaviour Analysis, which is a scientific evidence base methodology for kids that have behaviour difficulties as ASD. ABA therapy helps them to effectively develop basic and complex communicative, social and meaningful life skills.

Mosta, Malta – October 11, 2017 – Parents struggling with development of children with behavioural difficulties can finally heave a sigh of relief. Hand in Hand has proven to change lives for better for kids with autism spectrum disorder with its evidence-based therapy. The organization is offering this service for the last three years in Malta.

Hand in Hand is offering the following therapy:

• ABA 1 to 1 session

• ABA Intensive Program in Group or Individual

• Speech Therapy

• Occupational Therapy

• Social Skills Group

“As soon as we discovered Hand in Hand and our daughter started attending the 1-to-1 sessions with the most dedicated therapists, the changeover in our daughter was truly amazing. She drastically improved her communication skills and behaviour. For us giving our child the best possible treatment is our only goal, and when we chose Hand in Hand we sealed our deal”, noted a happy parent whose child is taking ABA therapy from Hand in Hand.

Led by Jacqueline Abela DeGiovanni, the CEO of the organization, Hand in Hand is a partnership between Hand in Hand Malta and CareMalta Group. The organization is Malta’s unique provider that offers ABA therapy on the island for kids suffering from ASD and other related disorders.

“Our therapy that is scientifically proven to help in the development of kids with behavioural difficulties. The therapy counts on the application of ABA principles of learning and motivation to form the desired structured setting for a child so that s/he can start to learn things quickly and effectively. Recently we have taken our ABA therapy program a notch higher with our intensive program. We are providing different packages that are customized for every child based on his or her specific needs, problems and also family budget”, stated Jacqueline Abela DeGiovanni, the CEO of Hand in Hand.

Children tend to learn, play and socialize independently over time. But those who are suffering from ASD find it hard to learn these same basic things independently. ABA therapy helps to create the needed surrounding where those suffering from ASD too can learn and develop skillsets ‘naturally’- just like any other kid around.

ABA therapy has proved to help ASD kids in developing a wide range of significant skills. These include play, socialization, easy communication and self-care. The therapy also reduces risks of maladaptive negative behaviours such as extreme aggression or inclination to self-injury. Hand in Hand is backed by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who work together to provide a holistic approach, covering every aspect of the treatment.

“Our ABA therapist teaches kids basic skills as well as complex communicative, social and meaningful life skills like self-control or self-help. We follow a methodical and organized manner so that learners can maintain and apply these skill sets in any setting throughout their life”, Jacqueline added in.

In November Jacqueline is scheduled to attend ABAI Conference in France. On October 11, 2017, well known BCBA Zahira Ali is set to visit Malta to provide training for parents and therapist. Jacqueline is aimed to continue improving the service for local and expats children that are having service from Hand in Hand.
